Cell name is TR_cdrShowcase. Lower-middle class dwelling meant to fit a Hlaalu #17 shell.

The home of a retired caravaneer who, after the death of his wife, has plunged his savings into an ill-advised business venture--home bottling scrib jelly. Furniture and homeware, vestiges of his domestic life, are pushed to the side to make room for crates and crates of empty jars.

Not a content proposal, just thought it would be fun interior.

Hello, and thanks so much for your application. Some feedback below. Kindly address it in order to be promoted to interior developer.

Name: TR_cdrShowcase

Clean: Yes

Northmarker: Present, good

Light: Good

Illegal to sleep here: Yes, correct.

Gridsnap: Ok

Pathgrid: You want to use as little nodes as possible. Yellow lines represent the routs NPCs will use while walking around, and nodes show where the NPC will stop. Remove the nodes from the middle of the stairs, because that will cause the NPC to block the player movement.

Fits exterior: No, the western line of tiles sticks out of the interior shell when try to fit it in ex_hlaalu_b_17.

Floaters:

  • Jugs misc_com_bottle_03 on a carpet belowground sit dangerously on the edge. Move them either on the carpet or on the floor. Check all other items in the house, so they won’t balance on the edge of a carpet.
  • The carpet under the jugs could use more sinking so its tassels would touch the floor.
  • furn_crate_open_01 near the entrance door belowground.
  • 2 x light_de_lantern_04_128 belowground – loops float above their ropes.
  • T_De_StonewarePot_03 is floating above its surface on the bottom shelf.
  • misc_de_basket_01
  • T_Com_Saw_03 doesn’t touch the bottom of the crate.
  • T_Com_Hammer_Repair_01 – same.
  • Bottom T_De_StonewarePlate_03 (bookshelf)
  • 3 x ingred_ash_yam_01 (bookshelf)
  • Bottom T_De_StonewareCup_02 (bookshelf)
  • chargen dagger doesn’t touch the bookshelf with its tip. Also, replace this uniqe dagger with a generic one.
  • light_de_lamp_03_64 near the door aboveground.
  • active_de_p_bed_05. Also, not sure about having it placed on the side like this. Especially, because you still can use it to sleep.
  • T_De_Cm_Robe_05
  • furn_de_rope_03 above the bedroll – doesn’t reach the ceiling. Also, the lantern could use adjusting, because it’s off center.
  • Misc_Inkwell and the paper below it.
  • T_De_Scales_03 - with its side that’s facing the corner. It has to be rotated to sit flush. But after doing so, the scales won’t look realistic. Hence, you should probably place scales only on even surfaces.
  • furn_crate_lid_01 – the one between an open crate and another lid.

Bleeders:

  • furn_de_p_chair_01 belowground – is buried into the floor for a couple of inches.
  • 3 x furn_de_p_chair_01 belowground on sacks – bleed into walls and float above ground.
  • The bookshelf is bleeding into the carpet. Either move the carpet from under it or move it completely below the bookshelf and place the bookshelf on top of it.
  • misc_de_fishing_pole pokes into the top shelf and doesn’t touch the middle shelf.
  • light_de_lantern_04_128 belowground – bleeds into its rope.
  • light_de_lantern_04_177 aboveground near the door – same. The rope is bleeding into the beam with its side.

Rescaled miscs:

  • 3 x sc_paper plain – do not rescale the items that the player can pick up. They will recover their original scale when picked up and placed in the world again.

Other:

  • T_Com_SetFarm_Box_01 is culturally appropriate to other provinces, and not Morrowind. The texture makes it stand out alongside vanilla assets. In fact, I was going to upload a Morrowind version of this crate made by Cyprinius. Will do soon.
  • 2 x light_de_lantern_10_128  and other blue light sources belowground should be replaced with white/red lights. We use blue lights for magic-aligned locations only (enchanters, Mages Guild, etc), red lights for shady places (assassins’ guild, brothel, drugs), and white/orange for everything else.
  • furn_de_ex_table_03 – jugs on this table near the window do not sit flush. They either float or bleed into the table. Also, furn_de_ex_table_03 is for exteriors and shacks -- use furn_de_p_table_04 instead.
  • Tapestry stakes shouldn’t be hidden into the wall. Move them out of the wall and stick the stake above the wall beam. Check out Andothren interiors for examples.
  • I’d suggest using blue variants of jugs here and there to break the same-looking rows of bottles around the house.

General: You have good thinking for the backstory of your interior. In addition, you do well, implementing your ideas in the CS. Though, the upturned bed looks off. Your main point right now is to focus on item placement: most of your items do not sit flush with the surfaces they are on. Check out this guide for the specifics. Also, consider using a different exterior shell for your house. Maybe remove the bottom door and make the top floor a ground floor for that.

All done with revisions!

Everything should now fit ex_hlaalu_b_17. Condensed the whole house one tile West/East, and added a storage room one tile to the north. The storage room fits under the stairs of ex_hlaalu_b_17 and keeps the 3x2x2 requirement. Because of the condensed layout, some items were removed or repositioned and additional changes were made to maintain visual coherence.

Name: TR_cdrShowcase

Clean: Yes

Northmarker: Present, good.

Light: Good

Illegal to sleep here: Yes, correct.

Gridsnap: Ok

Pathgrid: Good

Fits exterior: Yes

Floaters:

  • Quill could be deepened into the inkwell some more. Usually, we have the feathers touch the rim of the inkwell.
  • netch_leather_boots – this is a cursed item (can’t be placed realistically), but try to rotate it so at least two points of the pair of boots touch the floor.
  • misc_com_wood_knife
  • misc_com_wood_knife
  • misc_com_wood_knife – knives and daggers need to be tilted so their tips touch the surface. We presume, that the blades are heavier than the handle.
  • A stack with four sacks and a chair on top should be moved to touch the wall and lean on it at least with one point.
  • T_Com_BrokenBottle_01 – the bottlenecks should be tilted so they touch the floor.

Bleeders:

  • misc_de_fishing_pole – very slightly into the middle shelf.

Other:

  • The bedroll is caspering (has a transparent bottom) if you look at it from the staircase. Try to move the crates closer together so the player won’t see the transparent side from that angle.
  • A stack of two T_De_StonewareCup_02 on the bookshelf – the top cup could use some adjustment, it’s visibly off center. I suggest placing a cup on a flat surface, duplicating it (Ctrl+D) and raising the second cup up. Then, select both cups, place them on the bent shelf and tilt them simultaneously. Or just adjust the current set up manually.
  • de_p_chest_02 – not an issue, but just so you know, this chest is empty and won’t spawn anything. Some vanilla containers are like that, despite not having the ‘empty’ in their ID.

General: It’s all very good now. You have clearly learnt the necessary skills. Now, a few minor things left before the promotion.

I feel bad for the devs that had to make these kinds of adjustments on a monitor from the 90s.

Anyway, the following changes have been made:

  • Quill deepened
  • Fishing pole adjusted
  • Stoneware cups adjusted
  • Crates under bedroll have been clustered tighter to reduce caspering
  • Upturned chair now barely touches the wall, sacks now lean closer to the wall. Elected not to excessively bleed the corners of the sack into the wall as it looked somewhat strange.
  • Boots are rotated slightly so the calf of the bottom boot and the sole of the top boot touch the floor. Couldn't find a better arrangement other than maybe standing the boots upright, and tucking something under the skewed boot. However, this seems more noticeably contrived than what I currently have. Which, seems best to me as it's most consistent with the rest of TR/Vanilla. Truly a cursed item.
  • Folded cloth under the utensils was removed, knives have been tilted so the blade touches the shelf
  • Rim of broken bottleneck touches the floor
  • Empty chest has been left unchanged

Thanks, it all looks fixed. Cups could use slightly more adjustment. But that shouldn't halt the promotion. Recommending to interior dev!

I congratulate you on your perseverance. Please, take a look at the list of our interior claims to see, which one would you like to develop (the ones for Almas Thirr are critical). I advise starting with smaller ones just because quick progression boosts your personal motivation.

Also, future reviews almost never make you fix your interior anymore. Instead, the reviewers implement fixes of all minor issues they'll find (like floating tableware, etc). So, it's going to be much faster.
