Description:

In this quest I was roleplaying an illusionist diplomat (and in most cases, pacifist).

When Budak gives his ultimatum to kill Eraris Verenim, my way out of this situation was to refuse and then calm both the angered Budak and defending Eraris, and run out of the mine.

Unfortunately this kills Eraris (the quest must kill him automatically if Budak isn't dead), which was very unsatisfying for the high-stakes getaway I was trying to accomplish. I could have also paralyzed or done something to enable our escape, and it would be nice if this quest would enable a situation were we both escape, without killing Budak.

P.S.

I found playing this character, that in fact many quests have no real option for someone who plays a pacifist and de-escalator of conflicts, especially as you progress deeper in factions. Perhaps this is just a reality of OG Morrowind that TR reflects, but it would be brilliant to at least have more dialogue options for calmed characters or those who want to avoid all bloodshed through subterfuge.

Suggesting to close this bug report. This would be hard to implement without breaking anything, especially considering the complexity and the amount of branches in Iron and Blood quest. Besides, it's not a problem from a logical point of view because Eraris is too scared to leave the mine while Budak is still alive, no matter if he's calmed or not. Considering Budak's vampirism, you can assume that the spell no longer affects him after you leave the mine.

Agreed. More discussion if

Agreed. More discussion if necessary can be had on discord, but for the sake of clearing up the tracker I am closing this.

Perhaps it wasn't clear, but

Perhaps it wasn't clear, but Eraris doesn't actually stay in the mine. He dies immediately upon exiting mine, just a corpse in the exterior right next to the mine entrance. It's a bit weird. It would be another thing if he didn't follow the PC out the mine then ofc one can assume he dies inside. But he follows the PC all the way out, when everyone is calmed.  Sorry to bring this up again even though you closed the report
