Description:
Bugs noticed:
* The Andothren temple donation box does not work when using a gold weight mod.
* As part of the Andothren Thieves Guild quest, the ex Tong member you go to question at the St Aralor monastery's dialogue is broken: without editing, he won't give anything useful with "code of silence".
* NPC TR_m2_Arodreth in Akamora has a very weird bug for me: nothing is selectable in the cell he is in. I had to remove him in the CS.
* Iridor (and maybe others) tells me I have cleaned him out when trying to play a game of Thirty Six (when I have never even spoken to him).
* The rounding up of the guar in Arvud is bugged. Most of the guar don't respond when you try to activate them. (Some do.) This was the same in older versions too.
* The quest in Arvud with the two mystery visitors at the manor - in the latest version, the two visitors don't appear. They did in the previous version.
* Noldor (I think - the Nord in the Salty Futtocks in OE) does not give anything after completing his quest to find his partner in Hlan Oek.
Note: All of the above are with a new game using the new version.
Also, a few quests don't give very good directions. Generally speaking, a few apparently place map markers, but that isn't very useful to those of us playing with Map and Compass and a very minimalist map (on purpose). But specifically, one quest I just did in Andothren where you have to find out what crime the woman was accused of doing at the Imperial Commission: I had no idea she was being held AT the Commission. I went to Fort Teyn to see if she was there. Maybe just a little addition to dialogue about where she is being held?
Comments
Are you using the latest
Are you using the latest version of Tamriel_Data? What other mods do you have? Some bugs might be caused by an incompatibility with the old version of Wares Ultimate. Most of these bugs aren't reproducible on a clean TR install.
I support your opinion about directions (I play without the map at all), but that would be too much extra work almost no one will recognize. Adding markers is often enough.
In that quest in Andothren, Nals Tobor explicitly tells you to check the Imperial Commission, the building above their watchtower. It's even written in journal. https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Tamriel_Rebuilt:The_Thief,_She_Kindly_Spoke
"Thief She Kindly Spoke" says
"Thief She Kindly Spoke" says to ask about the case at the Imperial Commission, not that she was being held there. Everywhere else it seems that Imperial forts are where prisoners are held. Seemed a logical place to look to me!
And yes, all up to date, of course. Too many mods to list. For all the other issues though, could Wares Ultimate (which I do have) be the culprit? If so, if it affects that many aspects I think perhaps there needs to be another methodology for Wares Ultimate to do what it does, as that makes it a very dangerous thing to include.
I really do think proper directions should be given for all quests, though. For the sake of immersion and attention to detail if nothing else.
I'm gonna echo Flin's comment
I'm gonna echo Flin's comment about Wares Ultimate, specifically your point about Andothren's TG "code of silence" - that's a confirmed bug with the pre-Andaram version of Wares Ultimate, which you simply shouldn't use with Andaram. If it's still present in the latest version that Danae uploaded in December, then please report this issue to Danae.
Similarly, Nodgar's script checks for the presence of the items that he gives as a quest reward, and if he doesn't have them in his inventory, he doesn't give them to you. Meaning, you have a mod that's editing Nodgar and his inventory.
I'll check some of the others, but regarding the issue with the Andothren temple donation box - the script checks for the presence of the gold_001 item, and if the gold weight mod changes the ID of gold, there's no way that we could fix this on our side. You would have to create a compatibility patch between TR and the gold weight mod.
Okay, so many of them seem
Okay, so many of them seem like Wares is the culprit. How irritating, as it's a good mod but clearly doesn't play nicely.
But no, if the donation box was made to accept items of weight (as it was in a previous version, actually) then it would be fine with a gold weight mod. It doesn't change the ID of the item, it just adds weight to it, and the box can't accept any item with weight.
