Hi there, new to modding MW besides some personal player home stuff but would love to help out with TR. The background I had in mind was a lower-middle class clothier's shop/home with room for an apprentice or servant. Let me know how it looks and what could be improved, and thanks in advance :)

Hello, welcome to our forums and thank you for your showcase submission!

The layout nicely fits ex_hlaalu_b_16, I like the interior's atmosphere and the objects that you placed suit it well.

There are however a few issues that need to be worked out:

  • The main building pieces need to be snapped to the grid.
  • The lighting is somewhat too bright, see other Hlaalu interiors as referance.
  • Bleeding furniture into walls is something that we don't do, therefor the Furn_De_Bar parts need to be moved.
  • Most of the items on the shelves and desks aren't rotated to match the surface, this has to be applied to each of them.
  • There are some floaters that need to be fixed like the greef, rag and gold pieces, for example.

Thanks for the input! Went and fixed the item rotation problems I could find, the bleeding and floaters, made the lighting darker, and snapped the building parts to the grid. Tough process to get all the object wonkiness sorted out after fixing the gridsnapping but hopefully caught all of it.

Good work fixing most of the issues, the only real one that remains is that you still didn't rotate all items to match their surfaces.

Here are two examples of it:

Here is a bolt of cloth that you rotated well, but is floating:

2 years later here's my 3rd update lol, changed to fit new standards!

Name: TR_showcase_geck
Clean: yes
Lighting: mostly good, the sunlight settings should be no higher than 25/20/15 because it only saturates one side of the int
Northmarker: present, N/A
Fits exterior: fits ex_hlaalu_b_16
Pathgrid: a lot of the nodes look like they’ve been artificially raised up–the level they’re at when you just right click the ground is fine. Also, remove the node from the middle of the staircase
Illegal to Sleep Here: yes, correct
Gridsnap: good

Bleeders:

Tapestries are bleeding into the wall too much, see the image below for an example of the ideal
Com_basket_01_chpfood5: bleeding into the ground

Floaters:

Furn_de_ex_bench_01: floating, but should also be replaced with a de_p bench, since using ex and p together is setmixing (which is generally not allowed)
All shirts, robes, skirts, and pants need to be bled into the surface a tad, because if you look closely at the back of the model, the mesh isn’t flat
Expensive_robe_02: floating completely
T_Com_Pipe_02: the bend of the pipe is floating
T_Com_Frypan_01: floating just a bit
Misc_de_glass_yellow_01 (x2): as above
Barrel_01_de_pos1: as above
Active_de_p_bed_13: as above

Other:

The 1.8 scale bench upstairs should be shrunk down to 1.0, and the plant pot placed on the ground. We generally don’t upscale furniture at TR. Also, it impedes navigability.
The furn_de_tapestry_12 in front of the doorway to the second room should be removed, as these setups are only used when the room is supposed to be a secret (as opposed to privacy reasons).

Overall, your detailing looks fantastic. My big suggestion is to consider the navigability of the interior. Think about NPCs being inside it, and the player having to maneuver around those NPCs. As such, I would recommend you to cut back on some of the furniture. The big ones I had in mind were the bookshelf before the furnace, and the table/bench upstairs. Also, the crates in the apprentice’s room could be cut back a bit, and the Active_De_Bar_Door could be removed and the other bar pieces slid over (because you don’t need a bar door if you can just go around it).

This is an exhaustive list, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions. Please join our Discord server, if you can, so that we can have more immediate correspondence. Fix these things and this should be ready. Again, good work!

Thanks for the review! here's an updated version, fixed lighting, pathgrid, bleeders and floaters and pared down some furniture. I kept that bookshelf in because I wasn't sure what to replace it with but I'll keep in mind navigability for future interiors!

Bleeders:

Some of the clothes you overcorrected and bled a little too much. On the server, I messaged you a before and after picture of what’s ideal (this is really picky).

Floaters:

Furn_de_p_bench_03: on the first floor, floating a tad

Other:

bk_BookDawnAndDusk: Increase back to 1.0 scale. In TR, we never rescale anything that you can pick up (because once you put it back down it goes to 1.0 scale, breaking the immersion).

Fix these final things and this is good to go!

Alright, should be fixed up now! Realized what you meant by the clothes not being flat in the back and lowered them just enough to not see through em from the back
