Hlaalu Council
What started as an open meeting became mostly focused on Hlaalu Council discussion.
The situations of Edayn Sadras (Council Elector), Fethis Hlaalu (House Peer and Duke of Narsis District) and Orvas Dren (not actually a member of House Hlaalu even on paper) were confirmed, as TR documents were inconsistent on those points.
As there ended up being no outlanders in the Hlaalu Council (unintentionally), it was agreed to add a male Bosmer who has gone native to the council.
Violet’s writeup: Proposed name: Velarinth Jalurch. Originally from Archen. Nativized Hlaalu upstart and member of the Hlaalu Council. Finds the Hlaalu elves to be the most similar to that of his own race. He admired the Hlaalu's cunning and worldview, and his ability to both look the other way and negotiate rather favorable positions allowed him to rise through the ranks very quickly. A somewhat older bosmer, younger than Barenziah, but older than what one might expect. He has a knack for helping make the problems of the other councilors disappear, when it suits him.
We also discussed adding an Argonian woman to the House Peers (the current list of them not being intended to be complete anyway). She rose to her position despite obvious adversity from elements of the house, but is unable to secure a position on the Hlaalu Council.
Vedam Dren’s position in the faction was clarified with some trouble. In vanilla Morrowind he stepped down from being Grandmaster of House Hlaalu to assume the ducal seat of Vvardenfell District, and is not part of the Hlaalu Council. As such, he’s been booted off the council in TR’s plans. Curio instead gets to keep his rank of councillor, the plan being to tie him more explicitly to Vedam Dren as a sort of stooge promoted to take Vedam’s place on the council.
